Discover Cunca Rami Waterfall: A Perfect Day-Trip from Labuan Bajo

If you’re looking for a getaway from Labuan Bajo, consider visiting the Cunca Rami Waterfall, which is approximately 35 km away and a 1.5-hour drive. Beginning at Werang village, you’ll embark on a scenic hike. Along the way, you’ll pass through small villages and farmland before reaching open stretches of farmland, where water buffaloes, pigs, and goats graze freely. This fertile area is home to banana, cacao, vanilla, and avocado plantations, so keep an eye out for them.

The trail will lead you alongside the river, and you’ll soon reach the waterfall and its large natural swimming pool. The waterfall is approximately 30 meters high, and though swimming close to it can be difficult, the experience is worth it. It can be a bit of a challenge, but the waterfall provides a strong massage effect when you’re underneath it. The hike takes roughly an hour downhill towards the waterfall and about 1.5 hours back uphill. It is mandatory to hire a guide, but also supports the local community, and you’ll learn more about sustainable farming and natural plantations.
